Who are we?

Dynamite are a group who support young people with a special educational need, disability or lived experience of mental illness to have a say in how the services which they use are designed and delivered.

What do we need?

Dynamite are looking to employ a new member of staff.

The position would be 16 hours per month and salary is £7.83 per hour.

We would like the candidate to be aged 16-25 and have either a disability, special educational need, or to have lived experience of mental illness.

They would be employed by Portsmouth Disability Forum (PDF) who manage Dynamite and would report to Linda Cantillon-Guyatt, who works for PDF overseeing Young People Services.

The service and role is joint-funded by Portsmouth City Council and Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group

How do I apply?

The closing date to apply for this position is midday on the 24th of May 2018.

We will make a shortlist of candidates that afternoon and invite them to a 30 minute interview on the afternoon of the 29th of May.

As well as a formal interview we will be asking shortlisted candidates to prepare a 10 minute activity, to deliver to a group of young people with SEND in the evening.

The activity can be themed around any topic which the applicant feels strongly about and would be interested hearing young people’s opinions on.

It should empower young people to have their voices heard.

We will let the successful applicant know on the 30th of May.

Applicants will be required to undergo a DBS check and provide evidence of their eligibility to work in the UK.

If you do not hear from us at either the shortlisting or post-interview stage then assume that you have not been successful. We will not be able to contact all unsuccessful candidates however we would be happy to provide feedback on request.

What else do I need to think about?

Please find attached full job description and person specification.

We are committed to making the application and interview process accessible, if there is a way that we could be doing this better then please let us know.

Please send completed application forms and a covering email to Joe Mcleish at dynamiteportsmouth@gmail.com
